The Welch Trust is a Scottish charitable trust which aims to provide grants to support chidren and young people. The trusts focus is on making life easier for children and families whose children need it most, with a particular interest in supporting;

 

> Adoption & Fostering support for parents and children

> Critical & Terminal illness in children

> The adancement of business education for children

 

Awards, which may be made both to individuals and charitable organisations, will be made only in support of a purpose which is charitable and which is a purpose of the Trust. The making of any award is a matter wholly for the discretion of the Trustees and they have adopted this policy to reflect their approach and guide their decision making from time to time. An assessment of the activity to be supported to confirm its charitable nature will be made at the point of making any award by reference to information about the project to be supported provided in the applicant’s Application Form.

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

Interested parties should contact the Trust to obtain an application form.

It is anticipated that the Trust will receive more applications than it has funds to support.  It may not therefore be possible to provide funding in respect of all applications which meet the criteria.  Equally, the Trustees have the discretion to provide grants to successful applications for a lower sum than that for which the application has been made.

 

MONITORING

 

The recipients of any award will be required to report periodically to the Trust on the use of any grant awarded to them, and the Trust will monitor such use to ensure that the funds are being used in the public interest and for the charitable purposes for which such funds were made available by the Trust.  Where conditions of grant have not been complied with the Trustees will where appropriate take action to recover any part of the trust’ award which has been misapplied.

GRANT AGREEMENT

 

Successful applicants will be notified in writing and will be required to enter into a formal grant agreement.
